Once and for All by Sarah Dessen
5.0

Let me start by saying: I loved this book. It was much more powerful than I was expecting and resonated with me more than any of SDs books have before. It was just the right mix of heartwarming, humorous, and tear jerking. The juxtaposition between present day and past tense didn't feel forced and provided just enough mystery to keep me turning pages until I had read the whole book in one sitting.

I wrestled with a four or five star review, though. As the story unfolded I went back and forth between thinking that Louna's sunset love story with Ethan was too fast to be realistic and telling myself, "reality is often stranger than fiction." In the end, the latter opinion won out as I ended up falling in love with Ethan almost as quickly as Louna did.

As a final note--the wedding theme added a touch that I didn't know I needed in my life. It served as a catalyst of sorts--an almost silent narrator if you will. Well done, Sarah Dessen, well done.
