#GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso
2.0

I've enjoyed Amoruso's interviews (her guest stint on the Tim Ferris show was very funny and entertaining) but this book was just not what I hoped. I picked it up expecting a mix of memoir, self reflection and real useful business advice for women building companies or getting started in the world. I got a little of that, but the writing isn't great, the tone is kind of all over the place, and the advice isn't particularly insightful at any point. Mostly, I feel that Amoruso isn't done growing as a human being or businessperson - not by a long shot - and that she might be able to write a decent book with real advice in another few years or decades. If you're wondering about this book, you can pretty well pass, or just skim it in the airport.
