The Wife Maker: The Husband Maker, Book 3 by Karey White

4.0

If you have read my reviews of The Husband Maker (The Husband Maker #1) and The Match Maker (The Husband Maker #2) you know that I have been predicting about what would happen in the end and that I have had mixed feelings about it.

In this instalment, Angus decides to move on with his life without Charlotte in it. He feels that he is done waiting and done with putting his heart on the line. On the other hand, Charlotte realizes that she is in love with Angus and that he is the most important thing in her life. So, when Angus moves to another city, she quits her dream job and follows him to try and win him back. No matter how many times Angus tells her that she should go back and that he doesn’t want her there, Charlotte hangs on, doing odd jobs and trying to win him back.

While I have mostly liked Charlotte through the series, I had a love hate relationship with her in this one. On one hand I hated her for giving up her dream job and moving away from her very loving family for a boy. On the other hand I admired the ‘grand gesture’ she made to prove her love and I admired her strength in moving to a new city and doing odd jobs to make ends meet. Angus on the other hand has been my favourite character throughout the series and I loved him in this one too. He is adorable as ever and to some extent I did understand his apprehension about opening up his heart to Charlotte again. I also loved Will in this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book as I finally got to read the romance that I have been predicting all along. And by the end of this book, I am actually glad that the author took the route that she has taken by making us wait for Angus and Charlotte’s story. I also enjoyed how the author has portrayed Charlotte in this book – she is determined to win Angus back but is not pushy about it. Instead she deals with him with patience.

A great conclusion.
