The Monster
by L.J. Shen
The Monster by LJ Shen
“my destiny was to fall in love with the monster in my story.”
first, i do want to say i am 100% LJ Shen fan (so take that information and do with it what you want). The Monster, i have been waiting for Aisling and Sam’s story since the release of The Hunter. and can i say, i was not disappointed!
i love Aisling character growth throughout the story, starting with doing whatever she was told to standing up to others. but always managing to stand her ground/pick fights with Boston’s most notorious alpha male underboss, Samuel.
of course, i laughed, i don’t know how she does it, but with either the dialogue between two characters or the inner thoughts of another, i’m laughing. and I LOVE IT!
i do feel like i need to mentioned this, since it’s not everyone’s thing (not really a spoiler) but the hero and heroine do the deed, have a romp, do the tango, go to pound town within the first 50/60 pages (not gonna lie, i didn’t hate it, it fits with the story, it makes sense). i think the tension/angst between the two is still strong even after that. so if you don’t mind that (hey, even if you do) then i totally recommend this one!!
i mean this right here
lust destroys, but love? love kills.
