lou_mac 's review for:
Lyra's Oxford
by Philip Pullman
Diving back into Lyra and Pans world is always a pleasure and I couldn't believe I hadn't read this book in the series.
As ever, the quality of the book is beautiful, full of maps and details that are stunningly presented. Reading this last as well was nice as I liked seeing Lyra and Pans relationship in a less strained form than the secret commonwealth.
The story is fast paced (its only a little book so it has to be) and I enjoyed some of the nuggets we uncover in it. I wouldn't recommend as a stand alone read, but if you enjoyed his dark materials then I think you'd like this.
