This was my second book by Penny D., and she did not disappoint! Although I was very late to the birthday party, I devoured the story in 24 hours, and it went straight to my top ten reads of 2025.
This book is age-gap perfection, and I loved every minute of it! It’s highly addictive in every way. The slow burn is delicious.
The story was written with class and there was nothing cringey about it.
Our two main characters have a deep connection and chemistry that grows stronger with each page.

Pike Lawson made me swoon so much! He is the perfect boyfriend. He’s the type of guy that we’d all kill to have in our corner: considerate, loyal, charming, skilled and hot.
The tension and the angst were palpable. Seeing them learn how to deal with their age difference, protect their relationship from the outside world, and find a way to keep it from breaking them apart was a great journey to be part of.

I bought a copy of the book for my trophy shelf right after I finished it.
It was that good.
I still have Punk 57 and the Nightfall series on my TBR list, and I’m looking forward to reading them soon.
