The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

3.0

A nice epic on the dangers of corrupted governments and the like. It's a fairly quick read and interesting enough to read. I found it rather predictable to be honest. I will admit it has some great descriptions of situations, visuals and scenery, but honestly I found it to be just 'good'.
Pros:
Reads like an action novel- which is a bonus as that is the intention, strong female character, grimdark setting, corrupt government(TM), epic fight scenes, emotional impact during specific scenes, Haymitch, MC being willing to do 'villainous' things
Cons:
Overused love-triangle trope, not-like-other-girls* justification for MC at times, extremely quick read to the point that I didn't remember much and had to read again, MC claiming high moral ground for villainous actions
