hey god it’s me notorious middle book lover. absolutely obsessed with the characterization of caleb; what matters to him and the sense of clarity he has on consent, boundaries, and assault. he’s not so detached from himself after years of corporal punishment to not recognize when he’s been assaulted. luna’s characterization lacked in this one, but i don’t think it was wrong. she’s been a victim her whole life and while she finally had autonomy in LightFall, she had none in DarkRise. it’s cyclic. it’s like she’s back in the padded room institutionalized. she’s collapsed into herself so there wasn’t room for character growth; and there probably wasn’t supposed to be. also i want alexander Dead <3
