I read this after one of the children in my class read it and loved it, after loving the Varjak Paw books. I don't feel this is anywhere near as good as Varjak Paw, I just didn't feel as invested in the world created around Lucky and the events seemed to be rushed and you were moving on before really understanding where you were. The ending though, was good and did make sense more than I thought it might. Overall, it kept me entertained enough to finish it but I've read better children's books.
