Exhaustive, meticulously referenced, and wonderfully written history of the world, from the cradle of civilization and mankind's beginnings to the present; from the geographical, political, and religious perspectives across "the spine of Asia."
The author convincingly reveals how this part of our world has been key to almost every major geopolitical or commercial trend since the beginning of recorded history.

Written with documented references (140 pages worth!), this is a scholarly but exquisitely readable text. There is a vast amount of information here, folks; but it is a world history!

It took me a while to get through this, but that was due to my schedule. The book was well worth the patience it took and I'm glad I kept returning to finish this very solid effort. Now if I could remember a tenth of it, I'd be ecstatic. 4.8/5.0
