An Absolutely Remarkable Thing
by Hank Green
The first book that got me hooked in a couple of years. I'm not a sci-fi kinda person, so I might not have picked it up if I weren't familiar with Hank Green, but I'm so glad I did.
I think what I liked the most is that the characters just felt really real to me. Like, the way that they react to some improbable, weird-ass stuff happening in their world felt relatable and genuine, and I felt I was right there with them. The writing style also really worked for me, and made me laugh a lot. I felt at home, if that makes sense? As someone who spent a lot of time on the internet growing up and also has watched Vlogbrothers on and off since the age of 16, maybe that's where the sense of familiarity comes from.
Anyway, it was a really fun read, with characters I cared about, interesting ideas and a plot that made me not want to put the book down. Really enjoyed it!
