Notable Quote: “You’d target your own team?” Cliff asks on a laugh when I point my snowball toward him.
“I assumed I was on my own team,” I answer with a grin.
Cliff slowly shakes his head. “I’m always on your team.”

The Praise: The chokehold that Julie Olivia has on me should be studied. I’ve loved everything I’ve read by her so far, and this was no exception. I laughed, I cried, I giggled and kicked my feet.
I really liked Michelle and how complex and relatable she was. With all her walls and the kind, selfless heart she hid behind them, she’s a character you wanted to root for. And don’t get me started on sweet, funny, perfect Cliff. A teen parent who stepped up to become the best dad to his girls, a baker who loves helping his small town any way he can, a supportive partner who encouraged Michelle despite wanting to keep her in Copper Run.
I loved Emily, Brittany, and Rocket so much, along with the rest of Copper Run.
The epilogue ruined me emotionally…we’re talking full on blubbering. I loved it.

The Critique: I can 100% honestly say that I can’t think of a single flaw.

Final Thoughts: This is one of my favorite books of the year. If It Makes You Happy is so incredibly sweet, funny, and filled with 90’s nostalgia.
