Palm-of-the-Hand Stories by Yasunari Kawabata

3.0

I felt very lukewarm about this book. I loved the short-short-story idea, but most of the stories weren't particularly engaging and I felt like I was just reading to get through the book. Some really nice imagery written in simple ways, and great tiny windows into peoples' lives in Japan between the 1920's~70's, but in the end I just liked it - that's all.
