Claire Keegan writes very tenderly and calmly about important and sometimes even horrific topics. Her main characters are everyday people and her stories about the decisions they make. Also how society looks like, how it can make people suffer. She writes with love for her country and her criticism doesn't do any harm to this love, I think actually her love is the reason for it.
Moderate: Child abuse, Death of parent, Emotional abuse, Forced institutionalization, Grief, Physical abuse, Pregnancy, and Religious bigotry
Minor: Suicidal thoughts and Vomit
