Everything about this book is incredible: plot, tension, pace, scares, etc. Amazing! The ONLY critique I have is the lack of strong female characters and how the female characters are written and described. Ellie had a much bigger role in the film that portrayed her as a very capable and smart, independent woman. The book? Not so much. She is smart, yes, but her role is much more subdued and not as useful as she was. Also, I cannot express how many times I wanted Lex to die simply because she was portrayed as a bratty, whiny, little girl and I wanted to throat punch her beyond belief. Thank God Spielberg portrayed her differently in the book.

Other than that, this book is amazing and I would read it 10 times over.
