Let Love In by Melissa Collins

2.0

2.5 stars.
Let me begin by saying I think this is a great debut novel and look forward to bigger and better things from the author. It takes a lot to put your vision out there for all of us readers to rate and review.
The following contains spoilers. Do not read any further if you have not read the book.

My issue with this book is that it's not original. It's very much your typical new adult contemporary romance.
~Both leads have emotional baggage that make them guard their hearts.
~Bad boy turns into super boyfriend overnight
~The girl is a virgin
~Their first sexual experience is magical and somehow feels good (I'd love to know how that happens because I've never encountered a woman that states her first experience was pleasurable)
~They end up accidentally pregnant.
And then the one big theme that is over used that bothers me the most: the instant love/connection.
Okay so it's cliched. It's over used and I've read way too many books with this exact theme to get all gaga over it. I think that if this was the first book of this theme I had read I would have been swooning and telling all my friends to hurry out and buy it. But it wasn't.
My final and last rant of the night, is Amazing. I read that word way too much to feel anything close to it's definition.
This isn't meant to discredit the author or pour negative light on this series. It just wasn't for me.
