Someone gave (or lent oops) me this book when I was in middle school and delighted to say it’s as good as I remember! The protagonist is what makes it such a fun read - having a practical and no nonsense character in a fantasy book is a great contrast and serves for larger critiques really well! Overall super funny, ahead of its time, and explores/subverts fantasy tropes in fun and unique ways :)
