The Happiness Project: Or Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun by Gretchen Rubin
2.0
I like the premise of this book - as a list-maker and resolutions follower, I can relate to Ms. Rubin's challenge to improve her life through monthly themes throughout a year. I found the author incredibly hard to relate to, however, and that made the book pretty unenjoyable. I suppose it's honest of the author to acknowledge her need for constant praise and approval from those around her, but her unending quest for "gold stars" grated my nerves. And she humble-bragged about her professional accomplishments...a lot. I think this book might appeal to a specific demographic which I am not a part of.
