5.0

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

This is for the complete series edition!
Devil on Her Shoulder is a short tale about a teenage witch going on a journey with the Devil to find her aunt, the Bruja. I am so pleasantly surprised at how well-paced this novel is! It does have a quick pace, but it's evenly paced and keeps it steady from start to finish. The plot is straightforward and is a charming read. I love that it balanced levity and serious moment in such a good way. I adore the art style! Something about it is just so fun to look at! Some things were left a bit up in the air, such as how exactly the magic system works or how the academy Norah goes to functions. But neither of those is really all that integral to the overall plot, so it is easily excused. This was such a good read, and I honestly think it would make a great animated movie!
