Deep Trouble by Mary Connealy

4.0

Shannon Dysart is on a mission to proove her father's sanity and find the treasure he found in the West. She funded the expedition and found...a rough group of companions that abandon her in the wild. She needs help and by God's blessings a traveling cowboy happens to be close to rescue this maiden in distress.

Connealy writes humorous, tragic and heart warming books. Her use of history and the Grand Canyon were new topics for me and were enjoyable. I loved the treasure hunt and the passage from the Gospels, "For where your treasure is, there your will be also." Currently, Deep Trouble looks to be a stand along (with a prequel Cowboy Christmas), so if you are hesitant to dive into a series, start with this novel.

Time Period: Western, 1881
Location: Grand Canyon in the USA
