I wanted to like this, but it was just too brutal. A hen is kept in a coop as an egg-layer and wants only to successfully hatch her own egg, is thrown into a pit when on her last legs, faces prejudice and ostracisation by the other farmyard animals, ends up raising a duckling as her own then has to deal with his own issues of social isolation and being hunted constantly by a weasel. Family fable or indictment of Korean society, I don't know. The tone was also so cold and clinical. It must be the English/Scottish childhood memories in me but I like my animal stories to be warm, cuddly and full of heart and hope.
