Bone White by Ronald Malfi

5.0

“The devil has tricks, but you can beat them.”

Malfi expertly weaves silken threads through the pages of this book, linking plot points like slipknots in yarn: by the end, he’s pulled the line taut again. You can depend on him; everything has its place and it’s all going to come together, count on it. You just need to pay attention. If you want cheap thrills, go somewhere else: Malfi’s gonna work overtime for it. I set a timer, to get ready for bed, and leapt out of my skin when it went off, just to set another one and another one. He has this special power of changing the intention of a sentence halfway through, such that I don’t even realize how deep of shit I’m in and I’ve already subconsciously hidden my feet under the blanket. What a powerhouse.

Even with the hair away from abrupt ending, this book fucks.

4.5/5 Uh oh, I feel a new author fixation coming on. Good thing he has literally the largest catalog ever.
