I've read 80% of the book but can't fight the "courage" to finish it!
The descriptions of objects, people, places etc. are extraordinary and very well detailed BUT the whole story is absent.
Honestly 80% in the book and the plot just started to kick in, and it is so boring that I honestly can't imagine how people can finish this book. I almost never abandon a book but this time I've been so tired of reading that I am not even into the mood to find out what happens at the end.
Personally, I think that the descriptions in a book are to complement the story.
The only bad thing about the descriptions is that they are so detailed that the author does not leave much up to the reader's imagination.
