Im my opinion these books are extremely dark but maybe not as much as the Daniel Faust series as Harmony is more of a real goody hero rather than the anti hero we seen in Daniel.
I will say this the author knows how to weave a tale were every person is a suspect and every lead unravels a bit of the tapestry hiding the safe and it is ingeniously done. Maybe a little to dark for me, also that is involving kids put me off rushing out to buy next book...
my personal preference though, still i enjoyed the writing and the thought process behind the characters and reveals.
