While this series is one of my favorite of all time, the first book was one of my least favorite of the bunch. I found Aislinn annoyingly helpless and her relationship with Seth is so wishy-washy that I just wanted the romance to be out of the book. I despise Keenan (I despise him until the last chapter of the last book in the series) but I do love Donia and her journey to becoming a truly tough queen throughout the books; it's great to see where she started in this initial story. I would probably like this much more if the other books in the Wicked Lovely series were less fantastic.
