Ana Huang’s newest release in the Kings of Sins series brought our newest main characters, Ayana and Vuk. Ayana, a gorgeous, famous supermodel who was well known in the fashion world, and Vuk, the billionaire who was stoic, owned his own billion dollar company, investments in a variety of things, and mysterious. Ana Huang raised the stakes in this billionaire romance with Vuk’s mysterious dark past coming back with a vengeance and Ayana dealing with her own issues, but also how things weren’t exactly as they seemed. A morally gray MMC who exuded, “I will burn down the world for her” vibes, a romance that held its own obstacles, a bit of a forbidden romance, and some suspense in the background of it all.
Now, in each book within this series there has been different takes on how the MMC’s are down bad for their love interest, but I feel like Vuk took the cake out of everyone with the way he was so legitimately OBSESSED with Ayana. Vuk became an immediate number one pick with the way he was actually so unhinged when it came to Ayana. The way Vuk had no shame, fear, or basically took what he wanted was honestly impressive, but more so the way he did anything for Ayana. From the simplest of things of making sure Ayana had a good meal after spending a long day shooting for a campaign and made sure to include peanut butter because she said that in her sleep. Even just live streaming the fashion shows that Ayana was walking in to watch her since he didn’t like going out in public. To the way Vuk became deathly enraged at the revelation that a photographer darned to put his hands on Ayana!? Yeah, that didn’t fly with Vuk, and best believe he got his vengeance for her, and my jaw dropped and I gasped at what Vuk did!!!! Vuk wasn’t your cinnamon roll, cutie boyfriend, no sir! Vuk was the man that everyone feared and respected, and he made sure Ayana was protected and safe at all times, especially making sure the people who dared to harm her got the punishment they deserved tenfold! Boom!
Compared to the other books in this series, there was a lot more action and suspense in this book, and I LOVED IT! I mean, I genuinely loved every aspect of this book, but the level of suspense, mystery, and danger that lurked in the background of the story built up to dramatic plot twists especially towards the end. This book was a rollercoaster of so many things happening, but it all connected back to the main story. Ana Huang really wrote this book perfectly and add in Vuk’s unhinged self and it was wild the way everything unfolded with the whole Brotherhood organization. In addition, having Ayana get pulled into everything that Vuk was dealing with exposed her to the world of unaliving people, questionable actions, and ultimately making her realize that not everything was as simple as “good” or “bad”. I think in part to seeing Ayana come to the realization of what Vuk dealt with and how he had his hands in the type of things she never could have imagined made her see that even the man she loved was capable of more than she could have ever possibly imagined. Vuk was morally gray and felt no remorse for the things he did especially when it came to the people he cared most about I.e. Ayana.
Wow, I feel like I just experienced a lifetime of emotions and feelings reading this book. I started this book at 4 am feeling the urge to read it and as I write this review it is now 8 pm…yeah this book consumed my day and I’m not even mad about it. If anything, I’m so surprised by how much I became obsessed with Vuk and Ayana. I feel like it had been a while since I read a good morally gray, unhinged character and Vuk definitely was that man! I was literally sitting reading as Vuk did the most wild, unhinged things like torturing a man for harming Ayana and I was just…KICKING MY FEET AND GIGGLING LIKE OH MY GOSH I LOVE IT! Hahaha something’s wrong with me, but that’s ok WE DON’T JUDGE! Ayana was a fantastic FMC who, was not only a gorgeous supermodel, but homegirl majored in chemistry and was a nerd at heart! Ayana had the brains and beauty! Go girl! I also loved seeing how she was able to get Vuk to smile, laugh, and genuinely understand him unlike anyone could. Ayana was a special FMC who is now at the top of my favorites list, especially within this series. Vuk and Ayana’s story was one that actually started even before this book with the crumbs that were left in previous books and to have read this whole book and see how far Ayana and Vuk have come was so satisfying! The spice was FREAKING HOT LIKE WOOOWWW! COULDN’T STOP MY HEART FROM RACING! Vuk was the grumpiest, stoic, unhinged, morally gray man ever, but for Ayana he secretly held a soft spot and opened up FOR HER! I could keep going on as to why I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK! THIS BOOK GAVE ME THE BILLIONAIRE ROMANCE I WAS CRAVING AND EVEN MORE! Round of applause for this book! Highly recommend! AYANA AND VUK WERE EVERYTHING TO ME!
