The Dangers of Smoking in Bed
by Mariana Enríquez
3.5/5 stars
“Sometimes I think the crazies aren’t people, they’re not real. They’re like incarnations of the city’s madness, like escape valves."
I had a good time reading this book. Each short story had its unique vibe, and I loved how dark and eerie they were. The mix of tones and themes kept the book interesting, and I had fun moving from one unsettling story to another.
While not every story stood out, and some left me uncomfortable, I still appreciated the variety and the way every story was written. The author captured vivid, atmospheric moments that make you ache for more. A collection that stays with you after reading.
