if the queerness/overall book were measured in terms of wine it'd be a fine ass glass, giving me the urge to become an alcoholic, and only getting drunk on this book

"He was quarterback of the wolves' first state champ team, and it's still his proudest accomplishment twenty-five years later. That and telling teenagers they're going to hell."

""Chole, we're gay. We can't do math."
"Okay, well, next time I'll come and make a spreadsheet."
"This is why we need you," Georgia says. "Once in a generation, there is born a bisexual who can do math. You're the chosen one.""

"Once, the Spanish teacher got up with an easel pad, drew a diagram of two stick men on a deserted island, and told them the fact that humanity would go extinct on that island was proof God doesn't want anyone to be gay. Occasionally, the school hires actors to do a skit about bullying."

"God. Shall I compare thee to an icebox pie? Couldn't be gayer if she tried."

"Chole realizes this is Shara when nobody looking. Born so smart and so curious and so fucking proud that not even Jesus could convince her she was wrong. Saved by God first and her god complex second. Going through hell and painting pink nail polish over it."
