How to Fail at Flirting by Denise Williams

dark emotional medium-paced
  • Strong character development? Yes

4.5

The beginning of the book was a sexy steamy romance but further into the book deeper topics were covered. Some trigger warnings for this one are abusive relationships, infidelity sexual assault.

I think the seriousness and the romancd were perfectly balanced in this one and worked wonderfully for an over all enjoyable story. The story is told from the main character, Naya's perspective, where we get a glimpse of all the insecurities she has in her head but how she comes across as self assured to others.  I loved the complexity of the characters and how so many strong friendships are presented. Overall a romance I enjoyed that brought to light some emotional issues woman go through in relationships.
