The Years of Rice and Salt by Kim Stanley Robinson

3.0

I got this because it came recommended on a sci-fi blog. I put it down at page 443 because I just could not get through it. This book is about a cast characters who are stuck together on the karmic wheel and who continuously die and come back as different people. It's confusing and I (stupidly) didn't get that I could identify people by the first letter of their first name, which always stays the same, until about the fourth reincarnation. It's set in ancient Asia, which is also why I'm having a hard time with this. I don't know anything about Eastern history. While this book makes me want to go study Asian history, it's a little too slow for me to get through it.
