The Woman in Me by Britney Spears

emotional inspiring reflective sad slow-paced

2.5

Britney’s story is so sad and the amount of trauma she was dealt at such young age is awful. That sad, this memoir left me wanting more and it was written in a way where it felt pieces were left out on purpose. Someone else mentioned this books feels like a teenagers journal, and they aren’t wrong at all.  I was hoping she would go deeper with her story. She doesn’t touch upon too much after the conservatory is disbanded, which I was hoping she would. I’m a huge fan of her, and kudos on surviving everything she endured, but this book was not a great reflection of her amazingness. I also had to listen to this audio book on 1.3x speed to tolerate the narrator. I was disappointed she didn’t read her own book, but I understand why she couldn’t.
