I don’t know if I get it. This is the first book of this author I’ve read, I wanted to read one of her other books but this was the only one my library had. I didn’t like the narrator but, that’s not necessarily something that is important to me. I think the narrator/ main character has deep internalized misogyny that affected her relationship with her daughters. I recently became a mother to a newborn boy and some of the things the narrator said about motherhood and parenting made me feel sick. It’s a quick read, but an unsettling one.
