People that say this book glorifies rape and slavery must've been reading it with both their eyes closed and brain turned off. I read this book in two settings within 24 hours and it is so painfully obvious that the contents of this book are heavily problematic and criticized by the characters in different ways, but if you need the author to hold your hand and make every character say "this is not good, it's actually very bad" because you believe that people cannot come to this conclusion by themselves, then you should maybe stick to the children's and middle grade sections of the bookstore.
