the title of this book, “minor detail,” is entirely fitting to this story. these minor details create links between the young girl at the beginning of the book, and our narrator at the end– the gasoline, water pressure, dog, and of course, military violence. it effectively mirrors the experience of the palestinian woman in the beginning of the israeli occupation to now, and how they are not that different. a short but hard-hitting novel, and should be read by anyone looking to experience the palestinian perspective in fiction.
