I love Ann Patchett's writing, and this compilation of her selected non-fiction writing does not disappoint. I listened to the audio (she narrates) and also read the book. If you're interested in writing, her introductory story tells the story of her craft. She also tells the story of the beginnings of her Nashville independent bookstore, Parnassus Books. I hadn't realized until reading this book, that she had been protested all over South Carolina because her book "Truth and Beauty" was chosen as the freshman reading selection. Her speech to the Clemson freshman class of 2006 entitled "The Right To Read" is amazing. Highly recommended!
