This is my first Octavia Butler book. The collection of short stories made it easier to read over time, as I’ve been busy with school lately. I really enjoy how practical Butler is! She seems to have a special sense for how humans work and interact with one another. I love how she writes. She’s so intentional and carefree. I think. lol. Overall, I would love to read more of her work. Also?? Never read science fiction before, and to see myself in this genre means a great deal, and makes it more appealing.
