This is a second chance romance novel looking at Gates and Tallahassee. They were both ‘friends with benefits’ and secretly married in a drunken stupor almost a decade ago, just for Gates to leave the next morning. Gates is now back in Tal’s life but as a annoying, immature, get on your tits roommate to which he agreed to this because of the orchidectomy Gates went through after being diagnosed with testicular cancer. Gates tries to win Tal back but will Tal be able to forgive Gates for what he has done?
I really enjoyed the comedy aspects of this book. There are so many people that I know that could relate to Gates, but me personally, I would be more like Tallahassee. I particularly loved the nod to testicular cancer in the book and the aftermath effect this can have on men and their mental health. Soooo boys, check the goods regularly!
I have rated this 4 stars. The only reason for this was because I found that the novel didn’t hold my attention as good as other KM Neuhold novels. This may have been entirely on me because I have been finding it difficult to focus recently, so I would definitely try it again.
