To Obama: With Love, Joy, Anger, and Hope by Jeanne Marie Laskas

This is, without a doubt, one of the best books that I have ever read. It is one of those couldn't put it down, told everyone I knew to buy it when it goes on sale, life-changers. I know it will be on my frequent reread list.

This book tells the story of the Obama administration mail room. Obama famously received 10 constituent letters a day; some of the letters that he received helped influence both policies and speeches. Jeanne Marie Laskas takes the readers behind the scenes of how the mail, thousands of letters a day, was processed and how the letters were selected to be given to President Obama.

Laskas' writing and organization is absolutely phenomenal. The book is a mixture of interviews with mailroom staffers, other Obama administration officials, Obama, and the letter writers themselves. Laskas does a wonderful job of providing a variety of letters and an even better job of conveying the emotions of the letter writers and the letter recipients.

Overall, this was a great read. I cannot wait to buy the final copy of this book once it is published.
