Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

4.0

Do you ever wonder what small choices effect your life and how it would be different had you chosen differently. Dark Matter explores this thought process so well it really makes you question are you the realest you there is or are you a slightly altered version?

Thinking that every choice leads to another version of myself if trippy but it isn't my first rodeo with this theory. It is interesting in the end to see how many Jasons were so easily changed to be able to kill when the "original" fought with that idea constantly. It also makes you wonder would your loved ones be able to sense minuscule differences within your personality if you were replaced by another you? The novel also felt like a strong mix of Hard/Soft SciFi. The terms and ideas are mounted in the possibilities of what science knows today but the use of emotions to control the box feels more fantastical. Overall it was a quick paced enjoyable read. Would recommend to people who love scifi and those juat starting out (with the knowledge that there are words and theories within the novel that not everyone is familiar with).
