Wow, this made me so deeply uncomfortable. Every single person in these books is so problematic with maybe the exception of Connor who just seems to enable their problematic insane behaviour. I really loved Kiss the Sky so I’m so disappointed that this was such a huge flop for me.
I spent 90% of my time reading this just going ‘what the actual FCK is happening?!’ and feeling like I was reading something slightly too taboo for my tastes. If Daisy hadn’t been so young or even if they hadn’t made it so obvious she was young I think I would have liked this so much more. The tension and heat is there and great but it felt uncomfortable to read it about someone so young who is barely legal. Also, it didn’t help that Lily and Daisy are written like helpless children which made any explicit scenes deeply uncomfortable and their character arcs unsatisfying.
I can see why these books are addictive and I can’t say that they didn’t hook me in because they absolutely did but I really just think these characters are so overly problematic and codependent in a way that makes me feel uncomfortable that I can’t root for any of them as couples. Three stars however for the vibes Connor and Rose are giving and the fact it definitely is hard to put down.
I would recommend it if you read the addicted series and Kiss the Sky and loved them.
