Okay, first of all:
Included in this review: I love Disney films from this period (1970-2005 or so) and I have a huge soft spot for Greek mythology. So I already liked this film; Hades is my favorite Disney villain (aside from Greek mythology).
Yes, I know it's actually Heracles, and Hercules is the Romanized name.
OK REVIEW:
I expected a bit more Hades based on the cover, but it clearly states: what if Meg had to become a Greek god? So we could expect Meg to be the main character. I found the rest of the book incredibly fascinating. It was as if the Disney film just continued in my head. I really enjoyed this!
Cons: This is a book from the "Disney Twisted Tales" series, so I expected a twist on the original story, or that it would just be really twisted, as in, messed up. But this was just... a sequel with Megara's POV? It picked up right where the film left off, with the only "twist" being Zeus acting difficult instead of his nod in the final two minutes of the film.
I don't know if I want to read the other books in this series. I really enjoyed it, but this just wasn't what I expected from a "twisted tale."
