Case Closed, Vol. 1 by Gosho Aoyama

4.0

fun read of one of my favourite manga.
this volume starts the plot rolling with the main character shinichi kudo being forced to take a drug which puts him into the body of a child. this happens at the very start so you do not really get much with teenage kudo till later volumes. the story follows his child form who ends up staying with his childhood friend/ love interest and her father a bumbling detective. this volume was made up of three relatively short cases which for the most part had straight forward solutions and easy to work out answers. the mysteries involved were a murder on a roller coaster, a kidnapping and a locked room murder involving idols.
one of my few gripes were the mysteries were fairly simple. this is most likely due to this being the first volume in a series that gets more complex mysteries as it goes on. the only other gripe i really had was with the art style. the original volume was released a while back now which explains this.

over all i give it four stars since i enjoyed the volume as a whole but had a few minor problems with it as i mentioned earlier in the review.
