I've read this book once before, but the audiobook really is fantastic. The version I listened to was narrated by Tom Parker, and he does an amazing job. His voice is fit for the tone of the book for sure.
Graphic: Body horror, Confinement, Cursing, Death, Drug use, Mental illness, Misogyny, Self harm, Sexual content, Suicide, Murder, Alcohol
Moderate: Addiction, Racial slurs, Racism, Suicidal thoughts, Violence, Forced institutionalization, Schizophrenia/Psychosis , Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Adult/minor relationship, Panic attacks/disorders, Medical content
It definitely showcases the dominant mindset of the time period in terms of racially- and sexually-charged comments and female objectification.
