Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas

4.5

Ok so this is a really hyped book. When I first started reading it I was enjoying it but I wasn't enjoying it as much as I was expecting to but I kept reading and by the time I finished it I understood the hype for it although I would still say it was way over hyped. This is an age gap slow burn romance. When I say slow burn I mean slow burn. The characters didn't actually get together until over halfway through the book which I get but ugh I just wanted them to get it over with. The chemistry between these characters is amazing which is why I was like screaming at them to just get together already. This is a forbidden romance because this is a boyfriends dad romance but there was no actual cheating on Jordan's part. At first I was kind of expecting there to be a little bit of a love triangle but that didn't end up being the case because Cole ends up being a horrible boyfriend in the end. There were a couple of things I wish would have gotten elaborated on in the end but that may just be a personal preference thing. Overall I really did enjoy this and I couldn't stop reading it. It was very addictive.
