There were good moments in this book but John Logan was basically insufferable.  He’s just such a bro and would say the most barbarian like things. There were several things he needed to literally get on his knees and grovel about and by the end when it came time for him to apologize he was like “well that’s why I’m here groveling” like, honey, if you have to TELL me you’re groveling then you’re probably not.  So anyways, besides that it was okay.  Like it was literally a book.  I’ve seen Elle Kennedy get criticized for the way her characters talk about and view the college experience (I.e. as a big booze and sex fest) and I didn’t notice it too much in the deal but by this book it tired quickly.  I’ll have to look at some reviews for the other books in this series bc this one just wasn’t it.  I could easily switch out these hockey romances for odette stone lol.  Also the fact that the only place you can listen to the audio book is audible bothers me…feels like classism.  I’m not paying for another credit to get lackluster college frat hockey bros.
additionally, this was one of the most basic and low key sloppy ways I’ve ever seen the “one of them’s a virgin” trope be handled.  No for real, I have no idea why people are obsessed with this guy.  Also, all of the shit with his dad and brother that was supposed to make me feel empathy for him made me hate him more.  Like, his brother has given YEARS of his life so Logan can go to college and live his dream, will take a few years off to travel with his wife, and then will come back to work for his dad FOREVER and Logan COMPLAINS ENDLESSLY that he will have to spend like 2-4 years working at his dads garage so his brother can have a taste of the freedom that he’s already experience. I’m telling you, he can be the worst.
But if you’re into that, read this.
