Another fantastic Julia Quinn read! I think this may have worked it way near the top of the ‘my favorite Julia Quinn books’ list I have in my head. I really appreciated how she was able to maintain tension in the relationship as the story developed and we were not stuck with one conflict to maintain us through the entire story. The added conflicts also felt REAL in the way that they came about/played out and not like plot devices to add pages to the story.
An interesting observation I had when reading this book is that so far, the two Quinn novels I’ve read with the most, ahem…demanding… male main characters are also the two stories that have contained a hunting cabin in a thunderstorm. These have also been, coincidentally or not, my favorite of her books.
