5 freaking stars! I loved Roman and Violet. I loved their banter. I loved their chemistry. I loved everything about them.
This was so much better than Viciously Yours and I think it’s because we got to see them fall for each other from the start. Violet brought that boy/man to life. He was her fierce protector ready to do whatever was needed to keep her safe and avenge her. I loved that they did activities together. Their pranks were so much fun. Him turning into a shell enthusiast for her.. perfect. I appreciated Vi making sure that Rome did things for himself and made sure he laughed.
I loved that her nickname was Princess because he thought she looked like a fairytale Princess when they first met.
I loved all the connections to the Vincula Realm. Samyaza, Orcus, the seraphim. JAH is really setting up a multiverse and I’m here for it! I also need Sam’s book prontoooo! I miss him.
I loved War. I loved how dedicated and protective of Violet he was from the start. Even when her and Roman weren’t speaking, War was there.
Babs?!? Come on. Freaking perfect. I was hoping she would have became Vi’s familiar now that she has royal fae magic. It kind of felt like that’s where it was going but no, just a pet. It was cute she terrorized War too lol
Vivian was of course the obvious villain and she was a good one. Sibling rivalry that went too far on Vic’s part..
The other villain I didn’t see coming. Well not the way it ended up. I had an idea of what their motivation was and I was partly correct. There was just a deeper plot with that person and once we got all the pieces it all made sense.
Lastly. Fuck Marissa. She was the worst and I wish Vi had done more to her. I do hope the next ones don’t have an obsessed, obviously in love but oblivious to the MMC friend that tries to intervene. This happened in the first book and again this one. I don’t want the stories to be too formulaic. There are other ways to create angst or tension than a jealous girl who doesn’t have a chance.
