My favourite of all of Stephen King's books, quite possibly his scariest.

The book reads for a lot of set up for a moment which inherently occurs in the final few chapters of the book, like many older Stephen King books read. Most books which do this often place too much faith in their ending and the whole book falls flat, but the end to this book is so satisfying that it lives up perfectly to its set up which is rare to say.

Main issue: the ending doesn't maintain the horror from previous chapters. With an exception of the epilogue, the main antagonist reads more like a slasher than a horror which is a shame because the horror in previous chapters is some of the most tightly written horror Ive ever read. Notably, appearances of Pascow's character.

Overall, a very enjoyable and spooky read with a very satisfying ending. 4/5
