Still Beating by Jennifer Hartmann
5.0
I haven't been this obsessed reading a book in a long time, I was hooked from the very start and it's going to stick with me for a long time.
This book gave me the angsty feelings I chase when I read. I have never read a book like this before. It is unique in the fact that its not just the heroine in a captive situation but the hero is also with her.
In Part One of the book Cora and her sister's fiancé are kidnapped, they spend three horrific weeks in a basement of horrors. Lines are blurred and crossed. Once rescued, they have to deal with the aftermath and figure out how to move forward.
This book is DARK because of what happens to the main characters in the first part of the book , it was hard to read in some parts so definitely check the trigger warnings.
I highly recommend this to readers who love dark romance , enemies to lovers , angst , forbidden , taboo and emotional reads.
