There are a lot of pop culture references, which aren’t for me personally but it’s not too distracting. The story overall is really cute and nice, even though it does deal with some heavier topics. But for a book that’s about gay people, i wish the homophobie weren’t so swept under the rug. If you’re going to bring it up actually go into it instead of just a casual mention and a suprisingly friendly town.
Graphic: Panic attacks/disorders and Outing
Moderate: Bullying, Racism, Medical content, Death of parent, and Chronic illness
Minor: Homophobia and Grief
